The Rotary Club of Palatine will be holding our 17th annual Oktoberfest event on September 19th-21st. The purpose of this community festival is to raise money for charitable organizations in the Palatine area. Our festival is Bavarian inspired, and we capture the spirit of Munich’s Oktoberfest with Bavarian bands, German food & beer, and many other fun elements.
For the last 15 years, our philanthropic club has given back over $1 million in festival proceeds to various local community-based charity organizations. Our event is fun for everyone involved. We attract roughly 15,000 patrons/fest goers each year.
What is unique about our festival is the goal to make it a low waste event. We are going more green via adding composting and recycling stations throughout our site. Our club is concerned about the environment, and this event provides an opportunity for us to contribute to keeping the community clean in a fun and environmentally friendly manner.

Tires often end up in landfills, releasing toxins and methane. Recycling them conserves landfill space and reduces water pollution by converting them into products like playground surfaces, asphalt, crumb rubber concrete, rubber bricks, rubber mats, rubber mulch, and TDF fuel.
Recycling leftover motor oil is more eco-friendly than disposal. Waste oil can be re-refined, transformed into fuel oils, or used in the petroleum industry. If not recycled, oils from vehicles and equipment can contaminate the environment.
We recycle hard-to-recycle items from our service lanes, such as flexible new car plastic and used cabin air filters. Recycled cabin air filters can now be transformed into new products like park benches.
